Our audio-visual solutions had to reflect DLC’s premium core brand principles, so identikit solutions were out and bespoke technical design was in.
The project
A dedicated Cycle Innovation investment across its UK and European estate has seen David Lloyd Clubs emerge as the foremost provider of specialist indoor cycling experiences on an industry-level scale. From concept to install, the technical expertise at Hutchison-t has helped bring this innovation to life.
Innovative indoor cycling is all about the experience and there are two ways to reinforce this through technology: specialist aesthetics and maximum user engagement. Our audio-visual solutions had to reflect DLC’s premium core brand principles across 70 different zones in more than 60 club locations, so identikit solutions were out and bespoke technical design was in.
What we did
Hutchison-t partnered with DLC to design and deliver advanced bespoke spin solutions for a series of full renovations, state-of-the-art new builds, and clever retro-fit upgrades.
To support the very best in cutting-edge virtual offerings, we specified a range of progressive hardware solutions including FitboxVirtual® - a neat but powerful operating platform developed specifically for best-in-class virtual content and official partner of LES MILLS Virtual - also equipped to run DLC’s UK-exclusive The Sufferfest content and more.
In the first example of its kind across the UK fitness industry, total automation has also been rolled out with every installation. Automated technology is a pioneering tool that lets DLC instructors programme virtual classes with full audio visual arrangements in advance. All equipment necessary – from projectors and screens to lighting and speakers – will activate automatically to begin their predesigned sequences at prescheduled times, without the need for prompting by a member of DLC staff.
For live classes, the same progressive technology has given instructors complete artistic control of the spin spectacle they want to create. Pro lighting, premium audio and exclusive video content can all be customised and controlled from a single iPad interface which streamlines complex AV commands into a manageable and intuitive form.
Hutchison-t and David Lloyd Clubs have built the places that spin experiences are made; where instructors lead their boldest riders through the most punishing Tour de France assaults, or immerse the fitness fun-seekers in a captivating spectacular of music and light.
