Our people make Hutchison Technologies a great place to work and we’re pleased to shine the spotlight on another member of our talented team. In our latest Meet the Team feature, we meet Service and Support Representative Louise Smith. We asked Louise to tell us a little about her role and what she enjoys most about working at Hutchison Technologies.

About the role…

Our Helpdesk team is responsible for answering all customer calls, managing the Helpdesk ‘inbox’ and logging, and assigning ‘tickets’.

Louise said, “As first-line customer service, my job is to respond to customer enquiries – whether that’s phone calls or emails – and log issues. I troubleshoot wherever possible and otherwise assign tickets to other members of the team. I also manage my own calendar.

“My favourite part of the role is probably the problem-solving aspect when it comes to troubleshooting problems – I really enjoy that.”

About Louise…

Outside of work, Louise’s time is taken up by family. She said, “I would have to say I’m pretty boring now that I’m a mum – it’s more about the kids and their hobbies than mine. When I was younger thought, I trained in kickboxing and was a first dan black belt. Now, I enjoy going for family walks and having days out altogether!”

Louise’s favourite podcast is ‘Not My Bagg’ hosted by Gogglebox brothers Joe and George Baggs. She said, “I think they’re absolutely hilarious – it’s light-hearted silliness from start to finish. They also have some great guests on from time-to-time.”

When it comes to travel, Louise would love to head back to Thailand sometime. She said, “I love anywhere in the sun, but my best ever holiday was a trip to Thailand in 2018. I’d love to go back!”

And now for something surprising…

If being a first dan black belt isn’t enough, prior to working at Hutchison Technologies and studying at college, Louise was an experienced beauty therapist. She said, “I was a beauty therapist for 10 years – but I really needed a change!”
