In our latest Meet the Team feature, we meet Senior CAD Technician, Stacie Tosh. We asked Stacie to tell us a little about her role and what she enjoys most about working at Hutchison Technologies.

Tell us a little about yourself

I’m a 34-year-old mum of two who loves being outdoors. I have quite an active family and we love to go away in our caravan and spend time cycling, swimming and walking in the Scottish countryside.

After leaving school, I attended Dundee College where I studied Interior Design. From there, I applied to Edinburgh College of Art where I began studying Landscape Architecture. After graduating, I travelled to Australia and New Zealand and had some amazing experiences including snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef and skydiving over Australia, to snowboarding and visiting the Waitomo Caves in New Zealand. When I returned home, I studied Sustainable Architectural Design at Abertay University. Since then, I’ve worked for a few companies and on some large-scale projects. The most notable projects would be BP Freuchie petrol station in Fife and the many Starbucks around Dundee.

After a while, I returned to doing 3D modelling and joined a company called Sutcliffe Play who design and install children’s playgrounds. This was really rewarding and has been one of my favourite positions. From there, I worked as a Freelance Architectural Designer on smaller jobs including conversions and commercial and residential renovations.

My husband and I have our own property business and our own estate agency. We’ve been renovating our farmhouse for the past three years, which has been hard but rewarding.

Tell us about the main aspects of your role

My main priorities are working up drawings for the Projects and Sales teams along with product design and model making for other parts of the company.

What’s the best thing about your job?

I like the diverse range of projects we get to work on.

What makes you stay at Hutchison Technologies?

The people are lovely. I’ve been welcomed into the team with open arms, and everyone is so helpful. I’ve only been here a short time, but I honestly feel as if it’s been longer.

If coronavirus is a teacher, what has it taught you?

To spend more time with family and live life to the fullest.
