Meet the team | Internal IT Manager, Lee Sexton

In our latest Meet the Team feature, we meet Internal IT Manager Lee Sexton. We asked Lee to tell us a little about his role and what he enjoys most about working at Hutchison Technologies.
Tell us a little about yourself
I’m a local lad from Dundee. I moved to south London in 1994 and stayed there for 10 years before moving back home. I’ve loved computers and technology from a young age – it chose me for a profession. I’m passionate about using technology to help others. In my previous role, I introduced virtual reality for the elderly. Seeing dementia sufferers respond so positively was very rewarding. In my spare time I like to make music and DJ.
Tell us about the main aspects of your role
I look after the IT infrastructure within Hutchison Technologies. I make sure my colleagues’ hardware and software are working optimally to enable them to do their jobs. I also look after Outlook, our servers and Office 365.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Hutchison Technologies encourages a culture of continuous improvement which is great because I enjoy exploring new ideas and finding different ways to improve systems.
What makes you stay at Hutchison Technologies?
The people here are great. Everyone is friendly and keen to help each other out. I like the company strategy for growth and it’s a journey I enjoy being part of.
If coronavirus is a teacher, what has it taught you?
It has introduced me to new people who I now consider lifelong friends. It’s also encouraged me to make a difference where I can, because life is short.
