Andrew Goodman, Marketing Executive

Our people make Hutchison Technologies a great place to work and we’re pleased to shine the spotlight on another member of our talented team. In our latest Meet the Team feature, we meet Marketing Executive Andrew Goodman. We asked Andrew to tell us a little about his role and what he enjoys most about working at Hutchison Technologies.

Tell us a little about yourself...

I’m originally from Fife. When I left school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do career wise. I decided not to go to university and went instead to Whistler, Canada, to become a snowboard instructor. I then spent four summers in Vassiliki, Greece, working as a Windsurf instructor and mountain bike guide. After that, I moved to the small French ski resort of La Clusaz. There I began working with a web-based holiday letting company which led onto my career in Marketing.

Outside of work, I’m married with three boys. I try to spend as much time as possible outside, sharing my love for the great outdoors with my family.

Tell us about the main aspects of your role...

My role is pretty varied and I get to be a part of most projects that the Marketing team work on. That could be from copywriting brochures or presentations, to designing and building webpages, to helping build internal documentation.

At the moment, I’m documenting our Customer Journeys – to help our internal teams ensure our customers get the best possible experience, every time they do business they do with us.

What’s the best thing about your job?

I love the variety of my role, but also that I’m always learning something new about the tech we work with. We’ve done so many incredible projects and, for a non-tech savvy person, it’s eye-opening hearing about the tech behind them all.

What makes you stay at Hutchison Technologies?

That has to be my immediate team – they make every day a joy. We all work incredibly well together and have a lot of fun while doing so.

It’s also exciting to be a part of a business that’s going through tangible change for the better. The work being done around our colleague experience is really encouraging and I’m already taking advantage of the personal development opportunities.

If coronavirus is a teacher, what has it taught you?

That time spent with friends and family shouldn’t be taken for granted. Treasure every moment and live for the small things.

It’s also made me more aware of looking after myself. I’ve always been an active person, but like many, the first lockdown got me into working out regularly and I don’t think I’ve ever been fitter!
