Meet the Team - Sales Director Jonny Curley

We’re pleased to launch our exciting new Meet the Team feature where, each month, we’ll shine a light on a different member of our talented and committed team. This month, we meet Director of Sales Jonny Curley.

Jonny, previously a Director at Origin Fitness UK, Johnson Fitness UK, and Powerhouse Fitness, and a senior sales manager with WH Malcolm, joined our team in October.

With just over a month at Hutchison Technologies now under his belt, we took the opportunity to learn more about Jonny, his role and his immediate focus of attention.

So, Jonny, tell us about your role…
“I’m responsible for leading and developing our Sales Teams. I’m also responsible for helping Hutchison Technologies deliver on our strategic ambitions.”

What attracted you to Hutchison Technologies?
“I like that Hutchison Technologies has a strong purpose that’s underpinned by strong values, and with a focus on future innovation.

It feels like a really exciting time to have joined as the company moves to the next stage, particularly in terms of growth. I have experience building up businesses and I understand the importance of both strategy and business development in achieving a strong growth trajectory. I see my role as supporting Bruce and Mark and the senior management team, and nurturing and developing all Sales Teams across every channel of our business.” 

What are you focusing on in the immediate short term?
“Initially my focus is very much on listening, observing and learning. Learning about the business, our people and our customers. We are formalising a long-term strategic plan to enhance the business fundamentals and drive growth with a strong focus on enhancing the customer experience and building the right culture in our team. Getting the culture right ensures you have the right balance of being productive and enjoying your work. It’s an essential ingredient in building teams that can support the business to become a long-term sustainable company with a focus on international.”

And what about your focus in the medium to longer term?
“Medium term, there will be a continued focus on culture and on ensuring solid business processes and practices. This will enable us to deliver excellent experiences for existing and new customers. Ensuring these business fundamentals are firmly in place will allow us to deliver on our customer goals and strategic growth plans.

If I turn to the longer-term vision, we’re formalising a strategic plan to further improve business fundamentals and drive future growth, with a strong focus on company culture and customer.”

Is there anything else you’d like to share?
“This year has been a very challenging time for our colleagues, customers and partners. We’ve been tested like never before. From this, we see that technology can support people and businesses to drive higher levels of consistency and performance. 

Long-term and quality are two words that shine through from my first few months at Hutchison Technologies. These will undoubtably be a major part of everything we do going forward in developing our people and concepts to deliver amazing experiences for our customers to delight theirs.”
