Elite audio, clever control
Amida Spa is a luxurious leisure experience available exclusively at Harbour Clubs and selected David Lloyd Clubs.
The project
Featured in Stylist Magazine’s ‘Britain’s 20 most beautiful gyms’ list, Amida Spa have built their reputation on delivering a 5-star experience - one they planned to recreate at their new Farnham premises. Our remit was to deliver an integrated audio visual solution capable of uniting the different zones and creating a truly harmonious and holistic environment.
We required an audio visual solution that would accentuate the luxuriousness of the spa and complement its tranquillity. Background music, for example, was to be so subtle as to be almost subliminally present, never obvious.
There were key environmental considerations too. Not least delivering audio to a large outdoor spa garden with sauna and steam cabins and a hydrotherapy pool – including underwater speakers so that guests could still hear intelligible background music while submersed in water.
What we did
Dividing the audio solution into zones ranging from treatment rooms and relaxation areas to health bar, we created a solution with the functionality to select the music type and volume level to complement the corresponding activity.
We also worked closely with the client, architect and interior designers to coordinate speaker placement in each zone so as to avoid compromising either aesthetics or audio quality. Then we selected best in class speakers, primarily from the Bose® Pro range, to ensure that each specific space and application was catered for with technology capable of withstanding heat, humidity, outdoor or underwater environments.
Through careful planning, expert technical design and painstaking attention to detail, we were able to deliver a 5-star audio solution for our client – and a 5-star spa experience for their guests.
